CCIS Travel is seeking a Vice President of Sales & Marketing to lead the next chapter of growth for our organization.
This newly created executive leadership role will be responsible for developing and executing the company's overall sales and marketing strategy while leading an established team of four sales professionals, including the current Director of Sales. Working closely with ownership and the Vice President of Operations, this leader will modernize our sales and marketing systems, strengthen customer acquisition efforts, improve revenue forecasting, and expand our presence within the student travel and group travel markets.

Develop and execute a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy to drive revenue growth and market expansion
Identify and pursue new geographic territories and customer segments within the group travel industry
Build and manage modern lead-generation campaigns across digital advertising, email marketing, SEO, social media, and industry events
Refresh and strengthen the company's market positioning while honoring its 33-year legacy and reputation
Oversee website management, content strategy, and social media initiatives
Manage referral, research team, frequent traveler, scholarship, and grant programs
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team of four professionals
Partner with the Director of Sales to identify growth opportunities and future staffing needs
Establish a structured sales process with clear accountability and performance expectations
Implement consultative selling methodologies tailored to educators, school administrators, and parent organizations
Improve conversion rates, sales effectiveness, and overall team performance
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and performance excellence
Establish clear expectations, measurable goals, and consistent standards across the sales organization
Drive strategic initiatives while balancing multiple priorities and growth opportunities
Mentor and develop team members through coaching, performance management, and leadership development
Partner with the Vice President of Operations to evaluate, select, and implement a modern CRM platform
Develop reporting dashboards to monitor pipeline health, marketing performance, booking trends, and revenue forecasts
Utilize data and analytics to identify growth opportunities, improve conversion rates, and optimize sales performance
Develop structured reporting processes that support informed decision-making and accurate forecasting
Design customer retention and lifecycle marketing programs that increase repeat bookings and client loyalty
Manage sales and marketing budgets across digital, print, trade show, and event initiatives
Develop accurate revenue forecasts and executive reporting for ownership
Ensure alignment between sales projections, operational capacity, and customer delivery expectations
Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, contributing to overall company growth and strategic planning
7+ years of sales and marketing leadership experience, including at least 3 years in a Director, Vice President, or comparable senior leadership role
Experience leading sales growth for a small to mid-sized business generating approximately $5M–$15M in annual revenue
Proven experience implementing, migrating, or optimizing CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar systems
Experience managing complex B2B consultative sales cycles involving multiple decision-makers and customized solutions
Strong understanding of digital marketing, lead generation, content marketing, email automation, and customer acquisition strategies
Demonstrated success leading, coaching, and developing sales teams
Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change, implement new systems, and successfully drive adoption across teams
Strong strategic planning, analytical problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and execution quality
Results-oriented leadership style with a track record of building accountable, high-performing teams
Experience using data, reporting, and performance metrics to guide business decisions and revenue growth
Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
Ability and willingness to travel nationally for client meetings, conferences, industry events, and business development activities
Experience within the travel, tourism, hospitality, or student travel industries
Experience selling to K-12 schools, educational organizations, performing arts programs, or related markets
Familiarity with group travel operations, tour planning, or educational travel services
Experience leading organizational growth, modernization, or digital transformation initiatives
$125,000 annual salary with performance based bonus opportunities up to 40,000 for a total on-target earning (OTE) of 165,000.

Strategic Growth & Marketing
Revenue Strategy: Design and execute a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy to expand into new geographic territories, targeting high school bands, choirs, and orchestras as well as other possible markets in the group travel segment.
Lead Generation: Build modern inbound and outbound marketing campaigns utilizing digital advertising, SEO, targeted email campaigns, educational music conferences, etc.
Brand Modernization: Refresh the company’s market positioning to leverage our 33-year heritage while appealing to modern music directors who demand flexible, custom performance tours, clinics and workshops, built around quality accommodations, great restaurants, and popular attractions. This will include website management and social media.
Added Value Program Management: Maintain database for Referral / Research Team and Frequent Traveler Programs, as well as the CCIS Scholarship and Grant Programs.
Sales Leadership & Team Management
Team Optimization & Growth: Directly manage and mentor the existing 4-person sales team, including the Director of Sales, to maximize conversion rates. Research areas growth and work with the Director of Sales to hire Account Executives when and where needed.
Sales Pipeline Management: Standardize a structured sales process from initial inquiry to booked trip, ensuring clear accountability.
Sales Training: Implement modern consultative selling frameworks tailored to music educators, school boards, and parent booster clubs.
Technology & Data Integration
CRM Modernization: Partner with the VP of Operations to select and implement a new, integrated trip planning and CRM platform.
Data-Driven Pipelines: Establish dashboards to track critical sales metrics, pipeline health, seasonal booking trends, and marketing ROI.
Customer Retention: Design automated lifecycle marketing campaigns to increase repeat bookings from long-standing school clients who travel on multi-year rotations.
Collaboration & Financial Accountability
Operational Alignment: Coordinate closely with the VP of Operations to ensure sales projections align with operational capacity and custom trip delivery constraints.
Budget Oversight: Manage the sales and marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of funds across trade shows, print, and digital media, as well as client thank you and customer recruitment events.
Forecasting: Provide regular, accurate revenue forecasts and performance reports directly to ownership.
Executive Leadership: Minimum of 7–10 years of sales and marketing management experience, with at least 3 years leading teams in a director or VP-level role.
Small-Business Scaling: Success scaling sales organizations within businesses generating revenue from five to fifteen million dollars.
CRM Selection & Launch: Hands-on experience implementing or migrating a sales team onto a modern CRM system (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or industry-specific tools).
Travel Experience: The ability to travel extensively throughout the country representing CCIS to current and perspective clients at trade shows or on-site with administrators / decision makers.
B2B & Consultative Selling: Mastery of complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving long decision timelines, school board approval processes, and custom client requests.
Digital Marketing Proficiency: Strong understanding of current lead generation tactics, content marketing, and email automation tools.
High Emotional Intelligence: Ability to inspire an established 4-person sales team while introducing new technologies and performance standards.
Analytical Mindset: Expert at interpreting sales data to identify bottlenecks and forecast future revenue accurately.
Industry Domain Knowledge: Proven track record in the travel, tourism, or hospitality sectors (experience selling to the K-12 education sector or custom group travel market is highly preferred).
