We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Bookkeeper/Client Lead for a client of Keystone Bookkeepers. This role involves comprehensive financial management and client leadership, focusing on leveraging cloud-based tools to handle client financial data, optimize processes, and deliver real-time, accurate financial insights.
As a Senior Bookkeeper/Client Lead, you will play a crucial role in transforming financial management with cutting-edge technology while leading a team of bookkeepers. Complete weekly, monthly, and other recurring bookkeeping tasks for assigned clients
Review and remit weekly payments on behalf of clients
Support new client onboarding activities
Provide guidance and training to junior bookkeepers as needed
Review and validate month-end work prepared by junior bookkeepers
Maintain and enhance Karbon workflows for assigned clients
Communicate directly with clients on a weekly basis to address updates and inquiries
Perform other ad-hoc duties as needed
Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or similar roles within US client environments
Minimum of 3 years of relevant bookkeeping experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or team lead capacity
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, spreadsheets, and other cloud-based accounting platforms
Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail to ensure accurate financial data management
Friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with both internal teams and clients
Prior experience working in a remote or virtual environment
Strong sense of urgency, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear and effective client correspondence
Education & Certification:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, QBO ProAdvisor, Bookkeeper Certification) are a plus.
Pay: $1800/ Monthly
Schedule: Full-time; 8AM - 5PM EST

Key Responsibilities:
Client Onboarding & Workflow Setup
Lead the onboarding process for new clients, proactively establishing financial workflows using Keeper and other tools to ensure seamless integration and long-term client success.
End-to-End Management of Bookkeeping Tasks
Take full ownership of bookkeeping processes, managing tasks from initiation to completion while ensuring all deliverables are accurate, timely, and aligned with client deadlines.
Payroll Reconciliation & Tax Prep
Handle payroll reconciliation and prepare tax-related documentation, ensuring strict adherence to regulations and deadlines.
Deadline-Driven Task Management
Proactively manage and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, identifying potential obstacles early and taking decisive action to resolve them.
Financial Analysis & Compliance Oversight
Conduct thorough reviews of financial data to identify inconsistencies, inefficiencies, or potential compliance issues, and provide actionable recommendations to address them before they escalate.
Team Mentorship & Growth
Serve as a mentor to new team members, providing guidance and training as the firm expands, while fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
Technology Utilization
Expertly leverage accounting tools such as QuickBooks Online (QBO), Keeper, Xero, Buildium, Uncat, and Canopy to optimize client account management and streamline workflows.
Document Management & Accountability
Assume full responsibility for retrieving, organizing, and maintaining secure client documentation, ensuring all records are ready for tax preparation and audits.
Client Communication & Customer Service
Deliver exceptional service by being proactive, detail-oriented, and dedicated to exceeding client expectations, fostering strong, trust-based relationships.
