Lake Tahoe Accommodations is seeking a detail-oriented Property Inspector to help ensure our vacation rental homes consistently meet the highest standards of quality, presentation, and guest readiness.
This role is all about the details. You'll inspect vacation rental homes before guests arrive, making sure each property is clean, properly staged, fully stocked, and ready to deliver a five-star experience. You'll be the final set of eyes before check-in, identifying anything that doesn't meet our standards and resolving minor issues on the spot whenever possible.
While the role does include light property care (such as replacing light bulbs, tightening loose hardware, or restocking supplies) the primary focus is inspection, quality assurance, and maintaining exceptional presentation across every home.
The ideal candidate notices what others overlook, takes pride in creating beautifully prepared spaces, works well independently, and understands that the smallest details often make the biggest difference in a guest's experience.
Conduct detailed inspections before guest arrivals using company checklists and quality standards
Ensure every home is clean, staged, organized, and presented exactly as guests expect
Verify furniture, décor, linens, amenities, and supplies are properly arranged and guest-ready
Compare each home's appearance to company standards and listing photos
Identify cleanliness, staging, maintenance, or inventory issues with detailed notes and photos
Catch small details before guests do, ensuring a consistently exceptional experience
Restock approved guest supplies and organize inventory areas
Perform basic property care, including replacing light bulbs, tightening loose hardware, replacing batteries, and completing other simple repairs
Replace and charge batteries for locks, cameras, and monitoring devices
Assist with guest access issues, including lockouts and key access support
Deliver approved guest items during guest stays when needed
Coordinate access for cleaners, maintenance vendors, inspectors, and delivery providers
Verify vendor work has been completed to company standards and document results
Identify and report maintenance issues requiring specialized repairs
Report technical issues such as internet outages, lock malfunctions, or offline devices
Support inventory management, linen tracking, and supply replenishment
Assist with preparing new properties for launch, including signage, labels, linens, and guest essentials
Participate in pre-launch walkthroughs to ensure every home is guest-ready
Create and update property documentation, checklists, and how-to guides
Maintain accurate guidebooks and property information
Help train and provide feedback to housekeeping staff on quality standards
Assist with updating SOPs, inspection procedures, and operational checklists as needed
Experience in property management, housekeeping, short-term rentals, hotels, or a similar hospitality environment is required
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to notice small presentation issues others often miss
Strong eye for cleanliness, staging, organization, and overall property appearance
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
Excellent observational and problem-solving skills
Dependable, punctual, and accountable
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly document inspection findings
Comfortable using mobile apps, digital checklists, and task management software
Flexible and responsive when urgent situations arise

Hourly Range: $25–$30 per hour, depending on experience

Field-based position with travel between vacation rental properties

Property inspections and readiness
Perform routine and ad-hoc property inspections using provided checklists and standards
Ensure homes are staged to match listing photos and guest expectations: homes should look like the photos every single time
Identify and document cleanliness, readiness, or quality issues with clear photos and notes
Document all details about each property accurately and keep records up to date
Flag anything likely to cause guest confusion: unclear instructions, missing signage, setup gaps
Supplies and minor maintenance
Restock approved guest supplies and organize supply closets
Perform minor fixes such as tightening hardware, replacing lightbulbs, or stabilizing furniture
Change and charge batteries for locks, cameras, and noise monitors
Assist with guest access issues on-site, such as lockouts or spare key access
Drop off approved items for guests during their stay when requested
Vendor and operations support
Support vendor access for cleaners, maintenance, inspections, and deliveries
Confirm vendor work completion and document results
Identify and report technical issues such as internet outages, offline devices, or lock failures
Support linen counts, inventory tracking, and replenishment
Property onboarding
Support new property onboarding including signage, labels, linens, and home essentials
Assist with pre-launch walkthroughs to verify setup and guest readiness
Create how-to documents and update checklists to reflect current property setup
Update guidebooks, how-to's, and label items in the homes
Team support
Train and provide feedback to cleaners on standards and expectations
Update inspection checklists and SOPs as properties or standards change
