5 Star Co-Host is a luxury vacation rental management company built on the South Shore of Massachusetts - and we're growing fast. We manage a curated portfolio of high-end waterfront homes across Scituate and the South Shore, and we treat every property like it's our own. Our housekeeping team is the backbone of everything we do. We're not a faceless agency farming out gigs - we're a small, tight-knit operation where every person on the ground is known, valued, and invested in. We communicate clearly, pay fairly, provide everything you need to do your job well, and we're building something here that has real runway. If you want flexible work in beautiful homes with a team that actually has it together, you've found it.
The Property Care Specialist is the boots-on-the-ground presence keeping our South Shore homes guest-ready. You'll spend your days driving between properties in the Scituate and Plymouth area — servicing hot tubs, managing trash and turnovers, doing quick property checks, handling light maintenance, and being our first set of eyes when something needs attention.
You won't own major repairs or owner relationships, but you'll be the person we count on to catch problems early, keep vendors moving, and make sure every home is in five-star shape before a guest walks in.
It's a flexible, part-time role with an as-needed schedule. Most work falls between 10 AM and 4 PM, driven by fixed anchors like trash pickup days, the turnover calendar, and hot tub service cadence but you'll have some flexibility on daily timing within that window. Hours vary week to week and increase in peak season (late spring through fall). Some weekend or same-day coverage is required for guest turnovers and urgent property needs.
Service hot tubs on a regular cadence: chemical testing, water balancing, filter cleaning, pre- and post-stay inspections, and scheduled drain & refill (certification paid for the right candidate)
Manage trash and waste: move bins to and from the curb on pickup days, handle turnover-day trash, and make periodic dump and bulk-item runs
Walk assigned properties between stays to catch issues early, bring in packages, and prep homes for storms or seasonal changes
Handle light maintenance: replace batteries, bulbs, and filters, mount fixtures, make minor fixes, and restock consumables — documenting and flagging anything larger with photos
Assist with smart-home tech installs (locks, cameras, WiFi systems) under direction from the core team
Act as the first set of eyes on maintenance issues: gather information, meet vendors on site, and help coordinating repairs
Support quality control alongside the Lead Housekeeper and cover property inspections when they are unavailable
Communicate promptly with the team via Slack, Turno, and other apps throughout the day
At least 1 year in a hands-on role such as property maintenance, facilities, landscaping, cleaning or turnovers, or handyman work.
Valid driver's license, a reliable personal vehicle, and current auto insurance (this role requires daily driving between properties)
Lives within approximately 30 minutes of Scituate / Plymouth, MA
Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work some outdoors in all seasons
Basic handyman skills — comfortable replacing fixtures, batteries, and filters and making minor repairs
Comfortable using a smartphone for work: team messaging, scheduling and inspection apps, and photo documentation
Self-directed and reliable, able to work independently without daily supervision
Available for some weekend or same-day coverage
Open to occasional trips to Cape Cod
Legally authorized to work in the U.S. and able to pass a background check
Hot tub, pool, or spa maintenance experience or willingness to complete a paid certification we provide
Experience in short-term rentals, hospitality, or property management
Familiarity with smart-home technology (smart locks, security cameras, WiFi systems)
Experience with Turno or similar property management platforms
Comfortable performing quality inspections against a checklist or standard
