Styer Hospitality Co. is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our growing short- and mid-term rental portfolio in Columbus, Ohio. This role oversees property readiness, rental operations, field teams, guest service, maintenance coordination, vendor management, and operational systems.
The Operations Manager will supervise our internal operations team, including cleaners, maintenance technicians, hospitality inspectors, and guest service agents. This position will also coordinate with third-party vendors, managing scheduling, payments, and the quality of completed work.
This is a multifaceted leadership role for someone who takes initiative, acts with a sense of urgency, and remains focused on achieving results while managing multiple priorities. The ideal candidate is a confident and decisive problem-solver who can adapt to changing conditions, identify practical solutions, and follow through without needing to be told twice. They should also be an engaging and motivating leader who communicates clearly, gains buy-in from others, and holds themselves and their team accountable to high standards.
Oversee daily short- and mid-term rental operations to ensure properties are clean, maintained, stocked, inspected, and guest-ready
Monitor property readiness and resolve issues that could affect the guest or owner experience
Supervise and support cleaning, maintenance, inspection, and guest service teams
Set clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable to company standards
Manage staff scheduling, shift coverage, workflow, and escalations
Coordinate property turnovers, inspections, maintenance, and ongoing property readiness
Ensure every guest check-in has a completed inspection
Manage operational tasks and workflows within Breezeway, Asana, Notion, and other company systems
Ensure tasks are properly assigned, documented, and completed on time across all departments
Communicate property issues, recommendations, and approval requests to owners
Coordinate third-party vendors, including scheduling, communication, work approvals, documentation, and payments
Oversee supply ordering, inventory organization, and materials transferred to individual properties
Lead new property onboarding and setup, including vendor coordination, timelines, listings, startup expenses, and owner invoicing
Monitor guest communication, reviews, and feedback to improve service consistency and quality
Prepare monthly reports tracking billable staff time, property purchases, and transferred supplies
Identify operational inefficiencies and help develop scalable systems that support company growth
Execute strategic initiatives and escalate significant operational concerns to leadership when appropriate
2+ years of property management experience
2+ years of experience managing a team
Active Ohio real estate license
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
Ability to pass a background check
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
These are nice to have but not a requirement.
1+ year of furnished rental experience
1+ year of experience using Hostaway, Breezeway, and online travel agencies (OTAs)
Success in this role means maintaining highly organized operations, keeping the team aligned, and ensuring properties consistently meet readiness standards for guest stays. Key performance expectations include:
100% of guest check-ins inspected and guest-ready
Maintain a 4.95 or higher five-star review rate
Achieve turnover times of four hours or less for short-term rentals and four days or less for mid-term rentals
Ensure cleaning, maintenance, inspection, guest service, and vendor tasks are completed on time and to company standards
Document and assign 100% of purchases and transferred supplies to the correct property
Keep Breezeway, Asana, and Notion accurate and up to date
Identify issues early, take initiative to resolve them, and escalate concerns when appropriate
Compensation: $75,000 to $85,000 annually, depending on experience
